Welcome 2011!

A month feels like a week. That’s how fast my life is now. Not complaining but thanking God for all the blessing in life. Praise to God. Hope it's not too late to say farewell to 2010 to all. Hey, people are celebrating Eidul Fitr for month. So I guess at this particulate moment, it’s not wrong to wish everyone happy New Year. Welcome 2011!

So what are my resolutions for 2011? Tradition dictates that every 365 days, you should try to kick bad habits and start your life anew. When I was younger, I did these whole lists of New Year resolutions (of which I can’t even remember of what is it by the end of December), and half of which I broke within the first month or even the first week of New Year. Learning from experience, my New Year resolutions list gets shorter and shorter as the years go by.

So for 2011, my lists would be:

- To save more and spend less. To pay off debt. Easier said than done, but I will try!
- To be more focused, more efficient and productive in the office. It’s not that I’m not being “that” for 2010, but I’m hoping I can do it better. Though I might have looked like I achieved a bit of something for 2010, a lot of time it was quite a last minute work. I need to be more motivated. And YES, I’m also hoping to be paid with higher salary.
- I desire to be a better Muslim and slayer to Allah and I want to be able to read the Quran regularly and not just do the seasonal Ramadan reading. I wish that I could advance my Islamic knowledge where I would be implementing what I have learned.
- To be a great partner, friend, mummy (Insha’Allah), daughter and colleague to loved ones. I’m hoping that I could spend lots of quality time with them. For the past years, there were so many people in my lives that I would want to reach out or spend time with. I love all those people out there but it just that I can’t find the right time to spend with. But what is love if it’s not shown in actions right? So hopefully, I’ll be able to show it in more practical ways this year!
- Last but not least, to put down weight. I have gained so many kilos so far in my pregnancy which I'm not really sure how. My aim is to lose back those kilos during my confinement. Need to work real hard for this.

So let’s have a great start for January 2011 and hope for a better love in February 2011 (incase I have no time to update this blog in February)

Happy Independence Day to all Malaysians!!

Happy Independence Day!

I would like to wish all Malaysians a Happy 53rd Independence Day.
Born and bred as a Malaysian for the past 26 years and yet I am still living in Malaysia. I survive! Not necessarily those who choose to stay back in Malaysia would strive to earn a living and lack behind to those who graduated and worked in the developed countries.
Way back when I was in primary or secondary, Independence Day was celebrated with so much joy and happiness: late sleep just because of the fireworks and wake up early for the National Parade.

After school, Independence Day was celebrated much less. But that’s doesn’t means the enthusiasm gone. Being patriotic doesn’t ONLY mean that you’re willing to sacrifice for the country. Your contribution to the economic development and Live happily and peacefully within races, it call patriotic too.

As the country is getting older, I really hope whoever rule the country will give their best effort on keeping this country peaceful and harmony. Lets different races blend in together without barriers and lets religious activities carries out without fear. War will not get us anywhere. There are much more to do with love than hate. Sometimes, a majority of us tend to think that the grass is greener on the other side. “Hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri, lebih baik hujan batu di negeri sendiri”. It’s a Malay proverb, meaning that although there are many good things outside our own country, and less in the place where we live, it is still best to live in our own place. It might be similar to “There is no place like home”.
